A recent survey for Housebuyers Research from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks has revealed that just under half of the people surveyed believe that the value of their home will rise over the next year. This is a great increase from the 25% who believed the value would rise when the same survey was taken six months ago.
The survey also revealed that homeowners in London were the most optimistic, with 63% expecting a rise in value, whereas homeowners in Scotland were less positive with only 35% expecting an increase in the value of their home.
Andrew Pearce, Retail Director for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, commented: "It is encouraging to see optimism returning to the property market with a significant increase in the number of people who believe the value of their property will increase."
